In an exclusive interview with The5%ers, Adeboye, a newly funded trader, opened up about his trading journey, his strategy, and how he achieved profitability despite a modest win rate.
Adeboye revealed that he is a profitable trader with a 12% win rate—a figure that might seem surprising to many in the trading industry. “To most people, that would almost be unheard of. They would refuse to have that profitability,” he said. “But it all comes down to the mathematics behind it. For me, trading is a numbers game—risk management, win rate, and the amount you risk per trade are what really matter.”
Adeboye’s trading journey began about five years ago while he was still in school. He started by researching trading platforms and learning technical analysis through YouTube tutorials, eventually focusing on MT5. “I learned the hard way, completely self-taught,” he explained. “It took discipline, patience, and a lot of trial and error.”
After experimenting with different trading methods, including synthetic platforms like Deriv, Adeboye realized the importance of currency pairs and chose to specialize in trading gold. He emphasized the need to develop a personal strategy rather than blindly following popular trading concepts. “I created my own strategy and backtested it for two years. Risk management is the key—minimizing exposure while maximizing potential gains.”
Adeboye shared insights into his trading approach, revealing a mathematically driven system targeting a 1:30 risk-to-reward ratio. “Even with a 12% win rate, I can be profitable because my risk and reward are calculated precisely,” he said. This approach allowed him to turn small, disciplined trades into consistent gains, recently earning a payout of $500 from a $10,000 account.
“The key is to trust your strategy, understand the rules, and stay disciplined,” Adeboye concluded. “If you do that, profitability will follow.”
Despite a modest 12% win rate, Adeboye emphasized the importance of mathematics, risk management, and disciplined trading. Specializing in gold, he developed his own strategy, backtested it for two years, and achieved consistent payouts. Looking ahead, he plans to reinvest profits into larger accounts, aiming for maximum allocation with The5%ers. His story highlights that patience, strategy, and discipline can lead to trading success.
